“There is no way I can do that” 

Sometimes those are the very words that come before an incredible achievement.

During the beginning of September, BOWRA Foundation’s beneficiaries travelled to Caswell Bay, Swansea, for an unforgettable residential surfing experience.

Over the course of a few incredible days, fears were conquered, challenges were embraced, and confidence soared. Participants who never believed they could step onto a surfboard found themselves riding waves, building friendships, and discovering strengths they didn’t know they had.

This wasn’t just a surf trip. It was one of BOWRA Foundation’s most impactful residentials to date, bringing together existing beneficiaries and welcoming new people into the BOWRA community. Seeing so many survivors support, encourage, and inspire one another was truly special and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people are given the opportunity to thrive.

Brain injury or stroke does not define what’s possible. With the right support, determination, and belief, barriers can be broken, confidence rebuilt, and new possibilities discovered.
